Quick answer
Which UK nonstops to Bangkok actually sell a business cabin?
Two of the three. Thai Airways from Heathrow and British Airways from Gatwick both sell a business cabin. Norse Atlantic flies Gatwick and Manchester nonstop, but its top cabin is Norse Premium Class — a 43-inch-pitch seat, not a lie-flat bed.
British Airways upgraded Gatwick to Bangkok from winter-only to year-round from summer 2026, at three flights a week rising to six in winter. Norse gives Manchester the only Bangkok nonstop outside London, four times a week from 5 December 2026 to 18 April 2027.
Our lowest indicative business class guide fare is £2,101 return from Birmingham (BHX), checked. Aircraft and cabin are confirmed on your dated quote, never assumed from a schedule.
If you want a lie-flat bed on the nonstop, that means Heathrow or Gatwick. Manchester's nonstop is a fine flight and it is not a business-class one.
- Thai Airways: Heathrow nonstop, with a business cabin
- British Airways: Gatwick, year-round from summer 2026
- Norse: Gatwick and Manchester, Premium Class is the top cabin
- The Norse 787-9 is 56 premium economy and 282 economy
- Manchester Norse runs 5 Dec 2026 to 18 Apr 2027

Bangkok is the one Thai arrival with UK nonstops, and it now has three of them. For a business-class buyer that is a more complicated piece of good news than it looks, because only two of the three sell a business cabin.
Three nonstops, two business cabins
That last departure is the one worth reading twice. Norse gives Manchester the only Bangkok nonstop outside London — four times a week from 5 December 2026 to 18 April 2027, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays — and the inaugural weekly season carried more than 10,000 passengers. It is a genuinely useful flight. It is simply not a business-class one, and a fare described as "premium" on that aircraft is a recliner rather than a bed.
British Airways' change is the other new thing here: Gatwick to Bangkok was a winter-only route and is now year-round. On its Gatwick fleet you should expect the earlier Club World layout rather than the newer suite; we confirm the aircraft and the cabin on your dated quote rather than reading it off a schedule.
Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang — and why four hours is the answer
Bangkok has two airports and they are not neighbours. Suvarnabhumi (BKK) sits east of the city and takes essentially every foreign full-service carrier, including all three UK nonstops. Don Mueang (DMK) sits north, about 40 km away, and is the base for Thai AirAsia, Nok Air and Thai Lion Air.
There is no fast rail link between them. The shuttle takes 60 to 90 minutes depending on traffic, and the working advice is to allow a minimum of four hours to connect between the two — five if you can.
This matters more than it sounds, because most Thai domestic flights to the islands are sold by carriers based at Don Mueang. A Bangkok arrival at BKK followed by a cheap-looking domestic hop from DMK is not a connection; it is a cross-city transfer with your luggage, and it is the single most common way a Thailand itinerary falls apart.
Ask which Bangkok airport each sector uses before you look at the price of the second one.
What the five UK departures cost, and where the nonstop sits
Business class to Bangkok is £2,101 return from Birmingham (BHX), checked.
The shape is worth noticing. The cheapest departure is Birmingham, which connects. London — where two of the three nonstops leave from — sits above it. And Manchester, the one regional airport that has a Bangkok nonstop of its own, sits third of the five — above both Birmingham and London, with Glasgow and Newcastle above it again.
None of that is a contradiction. It is what happens when a nonstop is priced on a different aircraft and a different cabin from the connecting itineraries around it. It does mean the cheapest departure and the best journey are not the same ticket on this route, and we would rather you chose deliberately than by price alone.
Bangkok as the gateway to the rest of Thailand
A large share of UK trips through Bangkok do not end there. If yours continues, the connection deserves as much attention as the long-haul:
- Put the domestic sector on the same ticket. On one itinerary a late arrival is the airline's problem. Bought separately to save a little, a missed island flight is yours.
- Check the airport, not just the time. BKK to DMK is the four-hour transfer above.
- Expect a different cabin on the last leg. Thai domestic aircraft are narrow-bodies and turboprops; whatever your long-haul cabin, the island hop is not a flat bed.
Where you are actually going has its own page and its own fare: Phuket, Koh Samui and Krabi. Tell us the island at the quote stage and we will build the whole journey as one itinerary.
Before you book Bangkok
- Decide first whether the nonstop or the bed matters more — on this route they are not the same choice.
- If you are starting from Manchester, be clear that the Norse nonstop there tops out at Premium Class.
- Confirm the arrival is BKK, and ask which Bangkok airport any onward sector uses.
- Allow four hours minimum if the itinerary really does cross between BKK and DMK.
- Ask us to confirm the aircraft. On this route the cabin varies by operator far more than usual.

FAQs
What do travellers ask about business class to Bangkok?
Prefer to talk? +447348617176 .
How much is business class to Bangkok from the UK?
Our lowest current indicative guide fare is £2,101 return from Birmingham (BHX), checked. First class is indicatively from £4,616.
Which UK nonstops to Bangkok have a business cabin?
Thai Airways from Heathrow and British Airways from Gatwick. Norse Atlantic flies Gatwick and Manchester nonstop, but its top cabin is Norse Premium Class — a 43-inch-pitch seat rather than a lie-flat bed.
Is there a direct flight from Manchester to Bangkok?
Yes, with Norse Atlantic — four times a week from 5 December 2026 to 18 April 2027, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. It is the only Bangkok nonstop from a UK airport outside London. It does not sell a business cabin.
Is Norse Atlantic premium the same as business class?
No. Norse Premium Class is a reclining seat with a 43-inch pitch, not a lie-flat bed, and Norse positions it as an alternative to business class products rather than as business class. If a flat bed is what you are buying, the nonstop options are Heathrow or Gatwick.
Has British Airways changed its Bangkok service?
Yes. Gatwick to Bangkok was winter-only and became year-round from summer 2026, at three flights a week rising to six during the winter season.
What is the difference between BKK and DMK?
Suvarnabhumi (BKK) is east of the city and takes essentially every foreign full-service carrier. Don Mueang (DMK) is about 40 km north and is the base for Thai AirAsia, Nok Air and Thai Lion Air. There is no fast rail link between them.
How long should I allow to connect between Bangkok's two airports?
A minimum of four hours, and five if your schedule allows. The shuttle takes 60 to 90 minutes depending on traffic. It is a cross-city transfer, not an airport connection.
Which UK airport is cheapest for Bangkok?
On current guide fares it is Birmingham (BHX), and that itinerary connects. London sits above it, and Manchester — the one regional airport with a nonstop — sits above London again, third of the five departures.
Can I add a flight to Phuket, Samui or Krabi?
Yes, and it belongs on the same itinerary. Each island has its own page and its own fare, and the connection needs checking against the Bangkok airport question above rather than booked on price.
Which airport does this Bangkok fare use?
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK).
Are these Bangkok fares guaranteed?
No. They are dated indicative guide fares, checked. On a route with three operators flying three different cabins, which aircraft you end up on moves the figure as much as the date does.
How do I request a Bangkok business class quote?
Use the enquiry form above or email info@expertsbusinessfirst.co.uk. Tell us whether the nonstop or the flat bed matters more, and whether Bangkok is the destination or the way through.
