USA · Business class from the UK
Which US city should you fly into in business class from the UK?
Thirty American arrivals, and the first decision is the city — the second is which airport that city actually means. Six of them can land you somewhere you did not intend. Guide fares start at £1,629 to Chicago.
- Choose the city before the airline advert
- Nonstop versus a Gulf suite is an elapsed-time trade
- Indicative fares live on the city pages — not one “USA fare”

Quick answer
Which US city should you fly into, and which airport does it mean?
Name the city you need to wake up in, then confirm the airport. Several of our thirty American arrivals can land you somewhere you did not intend — New York is a metro code covering three airports, one of them in New Jersey, and San Jose here is California rather than Costa Rica.
The UK departure airport then does very different amounts of work depending on the arrival. Phoenix carries the widest spread between our cheapest and dearest UK departure of any American city; Dallas carries the flattest.
These are dated starting prices for each city, and not a ranking of which city is worth visiting. Your exact fare and routing are confirmed on your quote.
Give us the address you are travelling to, not just the city name — on this map that is what decides the airport.
- Thirty American arrivals, each priced separately
- New York is a metro code, not one airport
- Newark Liberty is in New Jersey
- San Jose here is California, not Costa Rica
- Lowest American guide fare £1,629 to Chicago
If the search is “business class to the USA”, the first useful decision is which city — and after that, which airport that city actually means. Thirty American arrivals are priced here, and several of them share a name with an airport you did not intend.

Decide in this order
Name the US city you need to wake up in. Then choose nonstop against a one-stop. Then confirm the aircraft and, above all, the airport. Doing it in reverse — picking a suite from an advert, then discovering you needed Denver rather than Manhattan — is how people buy the wrong ocean.
Experts Business First tickets premium cabins from the UK. Fares sit on each city, dated, and we will not flatten thirty arrivals into one headline USA price.
All thirty American arrivals, by region
Northeast
The densest part of the map, and the one where the airport question bites hardest. Our New York arrival is the metropolitan code NYC rather than one airport — and the Port Authority runs John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia and Newark Liberty, of which Newark is in New Jersey. Washington is priced to Dulles (IAD), with Reagan National nearby and Baltimore quoted as its own arrival.

Guide fares across the five: New York £1,790, Boston £1,814, Philadelphia £1,649, Baltimore £1,814 and Washington £1,749.
Florida and the Southeast
Mostly leisure flying, and the group where two cities in one state are routinely confused. Miami is MIA, not Fort Lauderdale. Orlando is MCO. Tampa is a separate Florida arrival again, and prices Gatwick and Heathrow separately, so “a London fare” is two answers there. Nashville (BNA) and Memphis (MEM) are opposite ends of Tennessee and different kinds of trip.

Midwest
Chicago is the UK long-haul arrival for the region and is priced to O’Hare (ORD); Midway exists and is not the fare airport. Minneapolis is the outlier worth knowing about: on current guide fares Glasgow leads its UK departures, which is the reverse of the usual pattern.

| Detroit | Detroit (DTW) | Business class to Detroit |

Texas
Dallas carries the flattest UK departure ladder of any American arrival we cover — the gap between the cheapest and dearest UK departure is a small fraction of the fare, where on some US routes it is most of it. Houston is priced to George Bush Intercontinental (IAH), not Hobby. If the trip covers more of the state, an open-jaw between two of these is usually a better ticket than two returns.

Mountain West and the Southwest
The group where the UK departure airport moves the fare most. Phoenix carries the widest spread between cheapest and dearest UK departure of any American arrival we cover, wide enough that the airport choice dominates the price. Salt Lake City runs the other way: Heathrow, which is also where the nonstop leaves, is its lowest figure — uncommon on an American route.

Guide fares across the four: Denver £1,749, Salt Lake City £1,749, Phoenix £1,649 and Las Vegas £1,790.
West Coast
Two traps sit in this group. San Diego prices its two London airports hundreds of pounds apart, so the London airport has to be settled before the airline. And San Jose is SJC in California — there is another well-known San José whose code differs by a single letter, and getting it wrong costs a transatlantic ticket.

|---|---|---|
| Los Angeles | Los Angeles (LAX) | Business class to Los Angeles |
| San Francisco | San Francisco (SFO) | Business class to San Francisco |

| San Jose | San Jose (SJC) — California, not Costa Rica | Business class to San Jose |
| Seattle | Seattle (SEA) | Business class to Seattle |

Guide fares across the six: Los Angeles £1,790, San Francisco £1,790, San Diego £1,749, San Jose £1,749, Seattle £1,737 and Portland £1,649.
Hawaii
Honolulu (HNL) is the furthest American arrival from Britain and the most expensive of the thirty on current guide fares. It is also a connection rather than a nonstop, so the mainland city you route through is part of the decision rather than a detail.

Where the airport is the trap, not the city
Six of these thirty arrivals can put you somewhere you did not mean, and they are worth checking before anything else:
- New York — a metro code covering three airports, one of which is in New Jersey.
- Washington — priced to Dulles; Reagan National and Baltimore are different arrivals.
- Chicago — O’Hare, not Midway.
- Houston — Intercontinental, not Hobby.
- Dallas — Dallas/Fort Worth, not Love Field.
- San Jose — California, not Costa Rica.
Give us the address you are actually travelling to and we will say which arrival is right, including when the answer is a different airport from the one you asked about.
UK departure airports
Heathrow carries the widest American long-haul choice, including most of the nonstop conversation. Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Newcastle appear across these routes too, and on several of them the cheapest UK departure is not London. Name the airport you can actually reach at 05:00: a cheaper Heathrow fare plus a hotel is a different product from a ticket that starts where you live.
Which airlines compete on UK–USA premium?
- British Airways — Club Suite on equipped aircraft; Terminal 5 geography.
- Virgin Atlantic — Upper Class is business class; Retreat Suites are scarce; typically Terminal 3.
- Qatar Airways and Emirates — Gulf one-stops when the suite or the fare is the point, not when you needed the shortest day.
Etihad, Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific can appear on some American constructions. They are not the default transatlantic story, and the product detail stays on those airline guides.
Routing
- UK nonstop — the usual clock for the larger arrivals when that aircraft operates on your dates.
- Gulf one-stop — Doha or Dubai. You are buying a suite or a fare, not a shorter day.
- US domestic connection — how most of the smaller arrivals are actually reached.
A multi-city trip — New York then Miami, Los Angeles then San Francisco, Dallas then Austin — is a different product, and usually a better ticket than two returns. Tell us both cities. Exact routing is confirmed on the dated quote; we do not invent schedules or frequencies.
Thirty fares, not one USA price
Each city is priced on its own page with the date it was checked. On the lowest American guide fare was £1,629, to Chicago.
These are dated starting prices, and they are not a ranking of which city is worth visiting. Do not compare one against a one-way screenshot or a different month. Open the arrival you actually need, for the cabin you actually want.
What moves these fares
Across the 30 arrivals in this group the guide fares currently run from £1,629 for Chicago to £2,314 for Hawaii — one region, two very different tickets.
Within a single arrival, the UK airport you start from does more work than most travellers expect. We can price 30 of these 30 arrivals from more than one UK airport — London, Birmingham (BHX), Glasgow (GLA), Manchester (MAN), Newcastle (NCL) — and on 20 of them the cheapest departure is not London. The widest gap in the group is Phoenix: £1,649 from Glasgow (GLA) against £2,756 from Newcastle (NCL) — the same journey, on the same dates.
Three things move these numbers beyond the departure airport: your travel dates, how much of the cabin is still open when you book, and which airline and routing the ticket uses. None of them shows in a headline price, which is why we price your own dates before anything is committed. How our fares work sets out the method in full — what a guide fare is, how the “from” figure is chosen, and the claims we do not make about it.

USA business class FAQs
Questions that span the country. City-specific questions sit with each city.
Choosing your city
Which US destinations can I book business class to with Experts Business First?
Thirty American arrivals, each with its own page carrying the airport, its code, a dated guide fare and the UK departures we can price. They run from the obvious — New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago — to arrivals such as Phoenix, Memphis and Salt Lake City, where the airport you fly from moves the fare far more than most people expect.
Which US city should I fly into from the UK in business class?
Fly into the city where you need to be. New York is JFK or Newark. Chicago is ORD (Midwest). Houston is IAH (Texas). Denver is DEN (Colorado / Mountain West). Los Angeles is LAX (Southern California). San Francisco is SFO (Northern California / Bay Area). Miami is MIA, not Fort Lauderdale unless you asked. Do not pick the cheapest indicative fare on a city page and then take a coast-to-coast domestic unless that sector is on the same ticket.
How does Denver differ from California or Texas destinations?
Denver is the Colorado / DEN decision: Mountain West and Rockies-centred diaries, not Texas energy at IAH, Southern California at LAX or Northern California / Bay Area at SFO. If the meeting city is Denver, open the Denver page — do not reuse a Houston, Los Angeles or San Francisco fare as a proxy.
How do New York, Chicago and Houston differ?
New York is the Northeast metro with a JFK versus Newark ground choice. Chicago is the Midwest arrival at O'Hare (ORD). Houston is Texas at George Bush Intercontinental (IAH). Different cities, airports and diaries. Open the city page that matches the meeting.
Is San Francisco the same ticket as Los Angeles?
No. Different half of California, different airport (SFO versus LAX), different ground transfer. Two-city west-coast trips are often two international shapes — tell us both cities.
What about Boston, Washington, Orlando, Dallas or Las Vegas?
We do not cover those cities in detail here. We can still quote them on request — name the city on the enquiry. Do not treat an unlisted city as interchangeable with New York, Chicago, Houston, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami or San Francisco.
Which airport
Which airports do you use for USA business class?
New York uses JFK and EWR, Chicago ORD, Houston IAH, Denver DEN, Los Angeles LAX, San Francisco SFO and Miami MIA. Open the city page for how we treat secondary airports on that route.
Is Houston Hobby (HOU) the airport on your Houston fares?
No. Our Houston city page prices George Bush Intercontinental (IAH). HOU is a different Houston-area field and is not the airport our current Houston fare uses. Confirm the airport on the dated quote.
Fares
How do business-class fares vary by US city?
Each city keeps a separate indicative return, checked. As of that date: Chicago £1,629, Denver £1,749, New York £1,790, Los Angeles £1,790, San Francisco £1,790, Houston £2,177 and Miami £2,115 for business. Denver also shows first from £2,469; Houston first from £4,869. These are seven fare entities — not one “USA from” price and not a guaranteed ticket.
Are these fares guaranteed?
No. The figures here are starting prices for each city, meant for comparing destinations rather than as a ticket you can hold. We confirm availability and your exact fare when you enquire.
Does UK origin affect the USA fare I see?
Yes. Indicative fares on each city page reflect UK-origin private fare availability for that destination. Your exact quote depends on UK departure city, dates, cabin and passenger count — request a quote for the precise diary.
Airlines and booking
British Airways or Virgin Atlantic to the USA?
Both are core UK–USA premium options when they operate your city. Club Suite versus Upper Class is an aircraft question. Gulf one-stops add elapsed time. City-level detail stays on New York, Chicago, Houston, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco.
Can I do New York and Miami — or LA and San Francisco — on one ticket?
Often yes, as a domestic add-on or open-jaw on the same international ticket. Two separate returns are how people waste a fare rule. Tell us both cities.
How do I request a quote for the USA?
Use the enquiry form or email info@expertsbusinessfirst.co.uk. Name the US city (or cities), UK airport, dates and cabin. We confirm what financial protection applies to your booking on the quote.
