Quick answer

How many airlines fly nonstop from the UK to Riyadh in business class?

More than any other Middle East city we cover. Heathrow publishes Saudia at up to three flights a day to Riyadh, Virgin Atlantic daily and British Airways daily, and separately lists Riyadh Air — Saudi Arabia's new national carrier — as operating at Heathrow Terminal 4.

That is unusual. Most Gulf and Saudi cities have one or two UK nonstop operators; Riyadh has a genuinely competitive London market, which is why it and Jeddah do not read the same despite being in the same country.

Frequencies are Heathrow's published figures and change with the season. Our guide fare is £1,444 return from London (LON), checked.

Do not accept the first business class fare you are shown for Riyadh. On a route with this many operators it is worth asking what each one costs on your dates.

  • Heathrow publishes Saudia at up to three daily flights to Riyadh
  • Virgin Atlantic launched daily Heathrow–Riyadh on 30 March 2025
  • British Airways publishes 12 weekly in winter, 14 from summer 2026
  • Heathrow lists Riyadh Air (RX) in Terminal 4
  • The fare prices to King Khalid International (RUH)

Riyadh has quietly become one of the most contested long-haul markets out of London. Four carriers appear in Heathrow's own published information for the city, which is more than Dubai's single incumbent and far more than its Saudi neighbour Jeddah. That competition is the most useful fact.

Four carriers appear in Heathrow's own information

One honest caveat on that table. Heathrow's own guide to direct Saudi Arabia flights names Saudia, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways; Riyadh Air appears on Heathrow's airline listing rather than in that guide, and Riyadh Air's own newsroom was not reachable to us at the time of writing. We are telling you it is listed at Heathrow, not that we have verified its Riyadh schedule. We confirm the operating carrier when we quote.

What four operators do to the cabin decision

On a route with one incumbent, the business class question is "what does it cost". On Riyadh it is closer to "which one do you want", and the four answers are genuinely different products — a Gulf full-service carrier, a British long-haul carrier with a distinctive cabin, a flag carrier, and a new airline still building its network.

British Airways describes a four-cabin configuration — First, Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller — on selected Middle East routes. We do not read "selected" as "this one", so if First matters we check the specific rotation rather than quoting from the brochure.

The practical consequence is simple: get more than one price. Our current indicative business class guide fare to Riyadh is £1,444 return from London (LON), checked, with first class indicatively from £2,463. On a competitive route the spread between carriers on the same dates can be wider than the spread between UK origins.

King Khalid International (RUH) — the capital, inland

The arrival is King Khalid International Airport (RUH), roughly 35 km north of central Riyadh. Riyadh is the inland capital and the seat of government and ministries; it is not a Red Sea city and it does not behave like one.

Saudi departures at Heathrow are spread across more than one terminal — Heathrow's own guide describes Saudi Arabia departures from Terminals 3, 4 and 5, which is consistent with four carriers in three terminals. If you are connecting from a UK regional flight, the terminal your long-haul leaves from depends on which of the four you are booked on, and that changes how much connection time you need.

Riyadh or Jeddah — they are not interchangeable

Both are Saudi, and travellers routinely buy the wrong one. On current guide fares and on Heathrow's published information they are not the same proposition at all.

If the meetings are in the capital, buy RUH. A Jeddah arrival for a Riyadh diary is a domestic flight and most of a day.

Choosing between the operators

  • Ask for more than one carrier's price on your dates. On this route that is where the money is, not in the UK origin.
  • Ask which terminal your long-haul departs from before you book a connecting domestic flight.
  • Treat a four-cabin description as a network statement, not a promise about your rotation.
  • Confirm the arrival is RUH and not JED.
  • Check whether your dates collide with a major Riyadh conference season, which moves premium availability before it moves the headline fare.

Four airlines now fly Heathrow to Riyadh, more UK choice than any other Saudi arrival. Our guide to business class across the Gulf compares it with the rest of the region.

FAQs

What do travellers ask about business class to Riyadh?

Prefer to talk? +447348617176 .

How much is business class to Riyadh from the UK?

The lowest indicative guide fare we currently hold is £1,444 return from London (LON), checked. Treat it as one carrier's answer rather than the market's: several airlines appear in Heathrow's own information for this city, and they do not price alike.

Which airlines fly nonstop from London to Riyadh?

Heathrow's guide to direct Saudi Arabia flights names Saudia at up to three flights a day, Virgin Atlantic daily and British Airways daily. Heathrow separately lists Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia's new national carrier, as operating in Terminal 4. We confirm the operating carrier on your dates.

When did Virgin Atlantic start flying to Riyadh?

Virgin Atlantic publishes its daily Heathrow to Riyadh service as having launched on 30 March 2025 and as operating year-round.

How often does British Airways fly to Riyadh?

British Airways published 12 flights a week between Riyadh and London Heathrow in winter, rising to 14 weekly from summer 2026. Schedules change, so we confirm the pattern on your dates.

Does Riyadh Air fly to London?

Heathrow lists Riyadh Air (RX) as operating in Terminal 4. We have not been able to verify its Riyadh to London schedule from the airline's own newsroom, so we treat its presence at Heathrow as the evidenced fact and confirm the schedule before quoting it.

Is business class to Riyadh cheaper because several airlines fly it?

Competition usually widens the spread rather than guaranteeing a lower price. On a route with four operators the difference between carriers on the same dates can exceed the difference between UK departure airports, which is why it is worth asking for more than one price.

Which airport does this Riyadh fare use?

King Khalid International Airport (RUH), about 35 km north of central Riyadh. Jeddah (JED) is a different city on the Red Sea with its own page and fare.

Which Heathrow terminal do I need for Riyadh?

It depends on the carrier. Heathrow lists Saudia and Riyadh Air in Terminal 4, Virgin Atlantic in Terminal 3, and British Airways in Terminals 3 and 5. Heathrow describes Saudi Arabia departures as spread across Terminals 3, 4 and 5.

Should I fly to Jeddah instead of Riyadh?

Only if Jeddah is where you need to be. Riyadh is the inland capital and Jeddah is the Red Sea commercial city; a Jeddah arrival for a Riyadh diary means a domestic flight and most of a day.

Does British Airways offer First to Riyadh?

British Airways describes a four-cabin configuration including First on selected Middle East routes. We treat that as a network statement rather than confirmation for a specific rotation, and check the actual cabin layout on your dates.

Is first class available to Riyadh?

We currently hold a first class fare from £2,463. With several carriers on the city pair, the cabins above business differ between them, so the useful question is which airline's first cabin you are being offered rather than whether "first to Riyadh" exists.

Are these Riyadh fares guaranteed?

No. On a route with this many operators the spread between carriers on the same dates can be wider than the spread between UK airports, so a single figure is a starting point rather than an answer. The figures here were checked.

How do I get a Riyadh business class quote?

Use the enquiry form above or email info@expertsbusinessfirst.co.uk. Tell us your dates and whether you have a carrier preference — on this route it is worth pricing more than one.
