Cathay Pacific · Business & First Class
Is Cathay Pacific business class the Aria Suite with a door, or the reverse-herringbone without one?
Cathay from the UK is a Hong Kong (HKG) routing. The Aria Suite with its door is on around half the 777-300ER fleet and flies the Heathrow rotation consistently, not the Manchester one. We confirm the seat.
- HKG hub — not Changi or Doha
- Aria Suite is not fleet-wide
- oneworld · Avios can apply

Quick answer
Is Cathay business class the Aria Suite with a door?
Only on selected aircraft. Aria Suite is Cathay’s newer long-haul business seat with a sliding privacy door, fitted to some 777-300ERs. Other long-haul business is typically still 1-2-1 without that door, which is a different thing from climbing over a stranger.
Cathay routes UK traffic through Hong Kong, and flies daily from both Heathrow and Manchester. The Manchester nonstop changes aircraft by season: an Airbus A350-900 for most of the year, and a larger Boeing 777-300ER in April, May, September and most of October.
Route facts checked 15 September 2026. If the Aria Suite is why you are choosing Cathay, Heathrow is the UK departure that carries it consistently. Manchester is not an Aria route, and its peak-month 777-300ER is a layout without those suites.
Confirm whether Aria Suite is on your flight before paying for it. Without it the cabin is still lie-flat, just without the door.
- Aria Suite is on around half the 777-300ER fleet
- Hong Kong hub, not Changi or Doha
- Manchester is daily, but not an Aria Suite route
- Centre pairs are not a double bed

Cathay Pacific from the UK is a Hong Kong (HKG) connection. That is not Changi and not Doha. Long-haul business is typically a 1-2-1 reverse-herringbone seat with aisle access. Aria Suite is a newer business product with a sliding door on equipped aircraft — not the name of every Cathay business seat. The important contrast with British Airways: Cathay’s non-Aria long-haul seat is usually still 1-2-1. BA’s older Club World is a 2-4-2 problem. Different split.

Is Cathay a Hong Kong ticket or a “best of Asia” brand?
It is a Hong Kong International (HKG) routing.
If the city you need is Singapore, start with Singapore as destination and Singapore Airlines. If Hong Kong is the city you land in, use business class flights to Hong Kong — this airline page is the metal and the programme, not the city fare brief. If you need Australia, HKG is one possible one-stop — so are SIN and DOH.
Onward destinations: Hong Kong, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Bangkok, Singapore.
Does Cathay Pacific business class have a door?
On Aria Suite, yes. On the standard reverse-herringbone, no.
Aria Suite is Cathay’s newer long-haul business seat with a sliding privacy door, on selected Boeing 777-300ERs. Cathay’s own business-class page states that cabins differ across routes and aircraft, and that Aria is being introduced progressively on that 777 fleet. If a door is why you chose Cathay, we confirm Aria on those flight numbers. We do not treat “Cathay business class” as Aria.

What if my flight is not Aria?
You are usually still in a 1-2-1 reverse-herringbone with direct aisle access — not BA’s older 2-4-2 Club World.
That is what this guide adds. Missing a door is not the same as climbing over a stranger. Centre pairs do not form a Qsuite double bed. If you need that hardware, see Qatar Airways.
Can I use Avios on Cathay Pacific?
Cathay is oneworld. Avios redemptions can apply through BA or Qatar programmes — we confirm the ticket stock, not a slogan.
Cathay also runs its own loyalty (Asia Miles / Cathay). That is a different balance from The British Airways Club. Surcharges and availability change. We will not publish a “Cathay is always the cheapest Avios redemption” claim.
See British Airways Club World when the Avios conversation is actually a Heathrow nonstop.
UK airports
Two UK departures, both daily: Heathrow (often Terminal 3) and Manchester. They are not the same proposition. The Manchester nonstop changes aircraft with the season — an Airbus A350-900 for most of the year, and a larger Boeing 777-300ER in April, May, September and most of October, in a layout without Aria Suite. The Heathrow rotation is the one that carries Aria consistently. So if the door is the reason you are buying Cathay, Heathrow is the departure to ask about, and Manchester is the convenient one. Cabin hub: business class flights from the UK.

Yes. From the UK, Cathay is a Hong Kong International (HKG) routing. That is not Changi and not Doha. If Singapore is the city you need, use the Singapore destination page and Singapore Airlines.
Does every Cathay Pacific business seat have a door?
No. Aria Suite has a sliding door on selected 777-300ERs. Cathay states that cabins differ across routes and aircraft. Other long-haul business is typically a reverse-herringbone without that door.
What is the Aria Suite?
Aria Suite is Cathay’s newer long-haul business product with a sliding privacy door, on selected Boeing 777-300ERs. It is not the name of every Cathay business seat. If a door is the reason you chose Cathay, we confirm Aria on those flight numbers.
If my flight is not Aria, do I still have aisle access?
Usually yes on long-haul: the standard reverse-herringbone is typically still 1-2-1. That is a different problem from British Airways’ older 2-4-2 Club World. Regional A330 sectors can be a different seat — name both legs.
Can I use Avios on Cathay Pacific?
