Business class to Thailand: which arrival, and what actually flies nonstop
Bangkok takes the nonstops. Phuket, Krabi and Koh Samui connect — and all three cost less than Bangkok, not more. This guide is about the route and the cabin; the fare detail sits with each city.

Quick answer
How do you fly business class to Thailand from the UK?
Bangkok is the only Thai arrival with verified nonstop UK services, from Thai Airways at Heathrow and British Airways at Gatwick. Phuket, Krabi and Koh Samui are reached on a connection, and all three cost less than Bangkok rather than more.
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) takes the nonstops. Phuket (HKT), Krabi (KBV) and Koh Samui (USM) connect, usually through Bangkok. A nonstop Gatwick to Phuket service is scheduled for winter 2026-27, which is a separate question from whether business class is sold on it.
Route facts checked 12 September 2026. Thai Airways' cabin on the Heathrow route is not independently verified, and business class availability on the Gatwick to Phuket nonstop could not be established. Confirm both with us before booking.
Decide the arrival city and the cabin separately: the nonstop gateway is the most expensive Thai arrival we sell, and a nonstop flight does not guarantee a business cabin.
- Bangkok (BKK) takes the UK nonstops
- Phuket, Krabi and Koh Samui connect
- Thai Airways flies Heathrow; British Airways flies Gatwick
- EVA Air markets Bangkok; Thai Airways operates it

The four arrivals, by guide fare
We publish four Thai arrivals. Ordered by our current guide fare, the one with the nonstop service comes last:
| Arrival | Guide fare from | Route from the UK | What changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phuket (HKT) | £1,517 | Connection required in business class | A nonstop Gatwick service is scheduled for winter 2026-27. Whether business class is sold on it is a separate question we have not been able to settle. |
| Koh Samui (USM) | £1,621 | Connection, normally through Bangkok | The final sector is flown by the airline that owns the airport, which decides what cabin is available on it. |
| Krabi (KBV) | £1,694 | Connection, normally through Bangkok | Several of the Bangkok feeder carriers are low-cost, so the connection you accept changes the cabin you get. We name the cabin on each sector rather than letting one label cover both. |
| Bangkok (BKK) | £2,101 | Nonstop from London | The only Thai arrival with verified nonstop UK services — and the most expensive arrival we sell. |
Business class starting prices, the lowest valid UK departure for each arrival, checked . Your exact fare is confirmed on your quote, and each city page carries its own UK departure board.
Bangkok is roughly £2,101 against £1,517 for Phuket. That is the opposite of what most people expect, and it is worth understanding before you choose. The nonstop is a scarce, high-demand product on the route with the most business traffic; the island arrivals are sold as connecting itineraries, where more airlines compete for the same passenger. Paying less to fly to Phuket does not mean Phuket is the better trip — it means you are buying a different journey.
What actually flies nonstop
Nonstop UK services to Thailand go to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK). Phuket, Krabi and Koh Samui have no nonstop UK business-class service; each is reached on a connection, normally through Bangkok.
One nonstop is scheduled that is not Bangkok, and at country level it changes less than it first appears to. Gatwick gains a Phuket service this winter, but we could not settle whether a business cabin is sold on it — so a business-class itinerary to Phuket still connects for now. That is not a coy way of saying no; the question is genuinely open, and we would rather say so than guess. The Phuket page carries the dates, the frequency and the alternatives.
This distinction is the one worth carrying away: a nonstop flight and a nonstop business cabin are not the same thing. A route can exist, be bookable, and still be no use to you.
Who operates what
Four airline names appear on nonstop UK–Bangkok services. There are fewer aircraft operators than names, which matters when you are buying a cabin rather than a route:
| Airline | UK airport | Service | Cabin |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thai Airways | London Heathrow (LHR) | Scheduled nonstops from Terminal 2, published by Heathrow on its own departure board. | Confirm the cabin on your dates — we have not independently verified it on this route. |
| British Airways | London Gatwick (LGW) | Year-round from summer 2026, three flights a week in summer and six in winter. Stated by the airline. | British Airways has not published the cabin configuration for this route. |
| Norse Atlantic | London Gatwick (LGW) | Nonstop Gatwick–Bangkok since 26 October 2025, three to five flights a week. | Cabins on this service are not stated by any source we could reach. |
| EVA Air | London Heathrow (LHR) | Sells London–Bangkok under its own flight numbers, but the flight is operated by Thai Airways under a Star Alliance codeshare. | You fly Thai Airways' aircraft and cabin, not EVA Air's. |
The EVA Air row is the one that catches people out. A ticket that says EVA Air on a London–Bangkok flight is operated by Thai Airways under a codeshare. If you chose EVA for its cabin, you will not be in it. That is a normal arrangement between alliance partners, not a trick — but it is rarely explained on a fare comparison, and it is exactly the sort of thing worth checking before you buy on the strength of an airline's product.
Route facts checked 12 September 2026, against airline and airport sources. Schedules change; we confirm them against your dates on your quote rather than promising them here.
Which UK airport
Two separate questions hide inside this one, and conflating them is how people end up comparing the wrong things.
The route question. The nonstop operators use specific London airports: Thai Airways flies from Heathrow, British Airways and Norse Atlantic from Gatwick. If you want a nonstop, your London airport is decided for you by the airline you choose.
The fare question. Our guide fares are held per UK departure point, and they do not follow the same pattern. Our cheapest guide fare into Bangkok departs Birmingham, not London — and on Phuket, Newcastle currently sits below both Manchester and Birmingham. The full departure board for each arrival is on its city page, because the ordering genuinely differs between them.
So: if the nonstop is what you are buying, start from the airline and accept its London airport. If the fare is what you are optimising, start from the departure board on the city page. Both are legitimate; they just are not the same decision.
Still choosing between the four?
This guide is about how you get there and what you fly in. If the question you actually have is which part of Thailand suits the trip — city against island, transfer times, when to go — that is answered properly in our guide to choosing between Bangkok and the Thai islands. Come back here once you know the arrival airport.
What moves these fares
Across the 4 arrivals in this group the guide fares currently run from £1,517 for Phuket to £2,101 for Bangkok — one region, two very different tickets.
Within a single arrival, the UK airport you start from does more work than most travellers expect. We can price 4 of these 4 arrivals from more than one UK airport — London, Birmingham (BHX), Glasgow (GLA), Manchester (MAN), Newcastle (NCL) — and on 1 of them the cheapest departure is not London. The widest gap in the group is Koh Samui: £1,621 from London against £2,114 from Manchester (MAN) — the same journey, on the same dates.
Three things move these numbers beyond the departure airport: your travel dates, how much of the cabin is still open when you book, and which airline and routing the ticket uses. None of them shows in a headline price, which is why we price your own dates before anything is committed. How our fares work sets out the method in full — what a guide fare is, how the “from” figure is chosen, and the claims we do not make about it.
Questions we get asked
Can you fly nonstop from the UK to Thailand in business class?
Nonstop UK services to Thailand run to Bangkok. Thai Airways operates scheduled nonstops from London Heathrow Terminal 2, and British Airways operates London Gatwick to Bangkok, which becomes year-round from summer 2026 at three flights a week in summer and six in winter. Phuket, Krabi and Koh Samui have no nonstop UK business-class service. Route facts checked 12 September 2026.
Which airlines actually operate the nonstop London to Bangkok flights?
Thai Airways and British Airways operate their own aircraft. EVA Air sells a London to Bangkok service under its own flight numbers, but the flight is operated by Thai Airways under a Star Alliance codeshare — so the aircraft, crew and cabin are Thai Airways', not EVA's. Norse Atlantic also flies London Gatwick to Bangkok. Confirm the operating carrier on your quote.
Is business class available on the Thai Airways London route?
Thai Airways operates the route nonstop from Heathrow; the cabin on the service is not something we have independently verified, so we confirm it on your dates when you enquire rather than promise it here.
There are direct flights to Phuket now — can I use one in business class?
Gatwick gains a Phuket service this winter. Whether a business cabin is sold on it is something we could not independently establish, so we check it against your dates before booking rather than assume. Until that is settled, a business-class itinerary to Phuket connects — usually through Bangkok or a Gulf hub. The Phuket page carries the frequency and the alternatives.
Why is Bangkok more expensive than the Thai islands?
Bangkok is the arrival with the nonstop services, and our guide fares to Phuket, Krabi and Koh Samui all sit below it. A connection is not automatically the cheaper journey, but on Thailand it currently is. The figures and their check date are on each city page.
Which UK airport should I fly from to Thailand?
It depends on the arrival and on what you are optimising for. Our cheapest guide fare into Bangkok departs Birmingham, not London. Separately, the nonstop operators use specific London airports: Thai Airways flies from Heathrow and British Airways from Gatwick. Fare and route are two different questions.
Do you sell one Thailand fare?
No. Each Thai arrival is priced on its own page with the date it was checked, because they are different journeys with different second sectors. A single "Thailand from £x" figure hides the sector that actually changes your trip. We confirm what financial protection applies to your booking on the quote.
How do I get a quote for Thailand?
Use the enquiry form or email info@expertsbusinessfirst.co.uk. Name the Thai arrival airport, your UK departure airport, dates and cabin. We confirm what financial protection applies to your booking on the quote.
Know the arrival airport? Open that city page. Still weighing the route? Ask us.
Tell us the Thai arrival airport, your UK departure airport, your dates and the cabin you want, and we will quote it — including whether the cabin you want exists on the service you are asking about.
